2017-10-31 - Happy Halloween!

Margo555

Omen Wyrms

- This warm egg is tangled in the roots of a dead tree.
- Oh look, it’s a cute baby... dragon? It’s impossible to see much of its body through all the flames.
- And look! It’s finally grown some sort of bizarre hide. It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

2017-09-30 - September Dragon Release

Margo555

Let’s squeeze in one last release before the all of the various holidays take hold. You can find these in the desert, volcano, or coast.

Bauta Dragons

- This egg has raised golden ridges.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its heads bob as it waddles around.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Bauta Dragons are easily identified by the fused, golden scutes that cover their twin heads in gleaming, gilded masks. They are regal in bearing, and tend to possess a serene disposition. These dragons are most active in early spring during the height of their mating season, engaging in jovial rituals of courtship to woo prospective mates. Bautas are found on temperate islands and lagoons, and are especially fond of sea-mounts near shore. They happily share territory with humans, and take notable interest in the affairs of mankind.

-----------------------
Spinel Wyverns

- This glassy egg has a single stripe on it.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has stubby little wings and loves to play.
- And look! Its wings have grown, and it’s even more energetic than before!
(m) (f) - Spinel Wyverns are small, sleek dragons that zealously collect spinel gemstones to line their nests. They are very affectionate with those they bond with, and will happily spend hours grooming a dragon of a different species if allowed to. Spinels are well-known for their even temperament, but when offended, they are very slow to forgive and will never forget. These wyverns will readily perform tasks in exchange for spinels, and occasionally other stones. Occasionally, they can be born with iridescent pale green scales instead of the usual rich red-violet.

Baikala Dragons

- This heavy egg has a soft, yielding shell.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two heads and loves to hunt minnows.
(m) (f) - And look! Its fins have grown longer! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Baikala Dragons are mysterious beasts that inhabit the lesser-known depths of deep lakes and oceans. These exceptional swimmers actively hunt whatever live prey has the misfortune to draw near, and has even been known to breach in order to snag low-flying prey directly out of the air. Though it is unknown exactly how intelligent Baikala are, they are exceptional strategists and problem solvers. Their two heads seem to think and behave as one.

-----------------------
sсript Dragons

- This egg is covered in mysterious patterns.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s almost disappointingly plain.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- sсript Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Zyumorph dragon

- This shiny egg seems to radiate power.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very protective of other hatchlings.
- And look! It has gotten bigger! It must be close to maturing.
- Perhaps among the most venerated of dragon breeds is the Zyumorph, a breed whose selfless heroism and strong moral compass are nearly unparalleled by other dragons. Zyumorphs have an innate urge to fend off wrongdoing, and as such, are often sought after in times of peril. Although they are independently quite capable fighters, it is said that their true might is not unlocked until all six Zyumorphs are brought together in times of great duress.

Первоапрельская шутка =)

Margo555

- This deep purple egg shimmers like a pearl.
1 вариант - Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a shimmering pearl balancing on its antlers.

1 вариант - Cermorvus dragons are said to be the true matchmakers of the dragon world, guiding many to their predicted mate that is seen in the mysterious pearl they carry atop their antlers. The sweet scent that billows from their flowery wings is particularly potent in mid-winter, when these large dragons are mostly active. Although due to the beautiful sheen of their antlers and the shimmering pearl they carry, these gentle dragons were hunted to near extinction.

Azure Glacewing Dragons

- This large egg has a lustrous sheen and appears to be covered in scales.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a great appetite but still prefers to hunt on its own. It is quite large already.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Azure Glacewing Dragons are one of the largest breeds. They grow to overwhelming sizes; folklore tells of ancient dragons outgrowing even lakes and mountains. They are quite oblivious in nature, and rarely care for—or even notice—the presence of other, smaller creatures. When hungry, an Azure Glacewing might strike suddenly, securing a tasty snack. An adult Glacewing is often more commonly found in the sea than in the sky or on land, due to their enormous weight. However, come mating season, Azure Glacewings return to the forests in which they were born, so that the young have lots of game to feed on.

---------------------
Fell Dragons

- This mottled egg looks positively ancient.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has an insatiable appetite.
(m) (f) - And look! It&rsuo;s developed a sharp, bony crest on its snout. It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Fell Dragons are a primitive, fractious breed. They are born small but grow astonishingly quickly throughout their adolescence, and constant hunger inspires them to eat nearly anything that can be made to fit into their mouths. Legend has it that they never completely stop growing at all. Adult Fell Dragons are massive juggernauts: a diet rich in minerals and metals harvested from the earth helps them grow a dense, scaly carapace along their backs and toughens their thick hides, while their wickedly sharp claws and the bony, ax-like crest on their heads are well-suited for both hunting and physical combat. Though few Fell Dragons have crossed paths in the wild due to their primarily solitary nature, it is said that their thunderous disputes can be heard—and felt—for miles around.

---------------------
Honey Drakes

- This egg is covered in tiny golden scales.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves frolicking among the flowers.
(m) (f) - And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Honey Drakes are small, energetic creatures that feed almost exclusively on flower nectar, honey, and insects. The myriad scales covering their bodies protect them from the stings of angry bees as they feed from hives, though these dexterous and wily drakes rarely need the protection. Though notably silent most of the time, Honey Drakes are capable of producing a purr-like thrum that seems to calm bees down, and their ravenous appetite for nectar results in a free meal for the hive, harvested from the drakes’ own scales.

Witchlight Dragons

- This downy egg is hidden in brambles.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glitter like enchanting flames.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Witchlight Dragons are silent, secretive beasts that haunt the most remote corners of the wilderness. They beguile their unsuspecting prey into peril by assaulting their perceptions of reality and stoking the fires of paranoia with masterfully-conjured illusions. Unwary travelers have been led astray by the soft, inviting glow of their eyes amidst a sea of encroaching darkness, never to be seen again. Those that survive a Witchlight Dragon’s psychic onslaughts do not escape unchanged: some believe that the apparitions these dragons summon to tempt or torment their victims awaken them to hidden truths about themselves.

September Release

Margo555

Diamondwing Dragons

- This egg shines like a diamond.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is very affectionate.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Diamondwing Dragons are named for the myriad tiny scales that grow on their wing membranes, lending them a faceted, lustrous appearance. These meticulous creatures will spend months ranging far and wide to collect the shiniest trinkets and gemstones to adorn their nests. Once his nest is complete, a male Diamondwing will perform an elaborate aerial dance hoping to impress potential mates with his beauty and prowess.

----------------------
Monarch Dragons

- This egg is buried in leaf litter.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a voracious appetite.
(m) (f) - And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Monarch Dragons feed on large waterfowl, supplementing with a diet of with eggs and fish as needed. Driven by the arrival of cold weather and the need to follow their prey, Monarchs are themselves migratory, leaving the forests in early fall and heading to the warmer climates of deserts and jungles. These migrations are a sight to see, as along the way smaller groups join with one another to form a single large group that can blot out the sunlight as they fly over. Until they reach their destination, they only land for short periods of time to rest. Monarchs spread out across the land at the end of their journey, breaking up once more into their small family groups until the time comes to return to the forest.

August Release

Margo555

Kyanite Pygmies

- This tiny cobalt egg has a crystalline sheen.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s so small and energetic that you’d lose it, if not for its dull luster.
- And look! It’s gotten bigger! It must be close to maturing.
- Kyanite Pygmies are a feisty breed, always full of energy. Playfully ebullient, these tiny and elusive dragons like to chase after one another, darting in and out of small alcoves and other such hiding places. They often dig small burrows underneath large trees and nibble on the roots for sustenance. They rely on the towering oaks’ formidable trunks and vast immensity to hide them from predators, something their small size aids in. Kyanites also secrete a weak toxin when threatened, which further protects them from intruders. However, this poison is not strong enough to affect larger creatures, humans included.

-------------------
Kingcrownes Dragons

- This shiny egg gives off an almost magical aura.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to spend an awful lot of time grooming itself.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Kingcrownes are a mysterious and proud species, possessing some of the most beautiful and reflective scales of all dragons. Despite this, what is sought after most is not their scales, but the silk-like hairs that grow along their head, neck, and elbows. The hairs themselves have a magical shine, and are thought to have powerful healing properties when used in potions. The hairs of a Kingcrowne are even believed to bring good fortune to those who possess them. Though it is obvious that these dragons possess magical abilities, it is still not entirely clear what they are fully capable of. Most of a Kingcrowne’s time is spent grooming itself, keeping its scales and fur in top condition.

-------------------
Dark Lumina Dragons

- This egg shines coldly in the moonlight.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It always seems to be picking over its scales.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Dark Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The males guard their territory and eggs while the females search for meat to eat. Dark Lumina Dragons are much meaner then their cousins.

-------------------
Almerald Dragons

- This glossy green egg is rather warm.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to get warmer and brighter when you are around it.
- And look! It has grown a beautiful silver mane! It must be close to maturing.
- Almerald Dragons are an unusual species. They have gem-like protrusions along their spine that brighten and darken depending on their mood. In addition, their body temperature grows warmer during periods of excitement, and cooler during darker moods such as anger or depression; as such, it is fairly easy to read an Almerald’s emotions. Their mood can change quickly at times, going from calm to angry in a matter of seconds. If their anger becomes bad enough they can become a frightening opponent. Adults are not normally high in energy, so they hunt infrequently and prefer to lazily consume large quantities of fruits and nuts.

-------------------
Aeon Wyvern

- It’s almost like time is distorted around this egg.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like with the egg, time feels inconsistent around this hatchling.
- And look! It has gotten bigger! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Among the most elusive of dragon breeds are the Aeon Wyverns, a breed whose innate control over time mana marks them singular and great. They are able to peer into the multi-dimensional plane of time, seeing all that is, all that has been, and all that could be—within a small localized zone. When utilizing paritcularly strong magic, the black markings carved into an Aeon’s body glow a bright cyan, painting them in an ethereal blue light. In the past, they have been sought after as oracles to bring swift resolutions to major conflicts, but it is in exactly such sorts of times that they are nowhere to be found; rather than influence the outcome, Aeons much prefer to allow the natural order of things to progress, however grim that may be.

Dragon Cave's 10th Birthday!

Nexus Dragons

- This dense, crystalline egg seems dangerously unstable.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two heads and bright, glowing eyes.
(m) (f) - And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Nexus Dragons are massive, volatile beasts surging with magical power. Each half of a Nexus Dragon’s body is infused with fire or ice mana, and it is believed that the unstable nature of these paired elements drives the dragon mad as it grows in size and strength. They are strict carnivores, preferring to feed on dragons and other creatures that naturally possess magic in order to bolster their own stores. As Nexus Dragons age, fire and ice mana crystals grow all over their bodies, enhancing both their power and viciousness.

----------------------
Candelabra Dragons

- This mottled red egg almost glows from within.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It sleeps through most of the day, but almost never leaves your side when awake.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Candelabra Dragons are a spectacular sight against the dark midnight sky. The glowing orbs that decorate their golden wings can be seen from far away and give them the unparalleled brilliance they are recognizable for. Proudly earnest, Candelabra Dragons will often go to extreme lengths to protect those close to them, even giving their lives to rescue a loved one from peril. However, they do not take lightly the breaking of a promise, and have been known unleash a furious wrath when betrayed.

----------------------
Morphodrakes

- A few bright markings decorate this egg’s shell.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very curious.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Morphodrakes are widespread in jungles, where the varied surroundings satisfy their seemingly endless curiosity. These drakes have a similarly varied diet, munching on anything from plants to carrion. They keep no territories and are solitary except for females raising young. Females are somewhat larger than males and are more aggressive, particularly when caring for young.

----------------------
Tarantula Hawk Drake

- A delicate web-like pattern decorates this egg’s shell.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to be left alone.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- The quiet and solitary Tarantula Hawk Drake lives in deserts, digging temporary shallow nests overnight in which to sleep. They feed primarily on large spiders, but will also eat carrion, other insects, and larger prey when necessary. Tarantula Hawk Drakes are typically quite docile, preferring to mind their own business. However, when threatened or provoked, these drakes will attempt to stab the opponent with the stinger on their tail to inject a powerful venom. This sting is at the very least extremely painful, and even if the toxins don’t paralyze the attacker, the pain is likely to distract them enough for the drake to escape.

Celestial Dragons

- This translucent egg shines like starlight.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its markings give off an otherworldly light.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Despite their great size and strength, Celestial Dragons are a peaceful breed named for their spectral, starry appearance. Little else is known about them, as they spend the vast majority of their lives partially phased out of the plane of existence through the use of powerful magic. Celestial Dragons are thought to assume their corporeal form only long enough to reproduce or to die; the rest of the time, they resemble living, breathing constellations, impervious to all physical and magical harm.

Sapphire dragons

- This egg looks like a beautiful blue stone.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s a brilliant blue-green color.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Sapphire dragons were so named for their brilliant blue-green color, which is reminiscent of the gemstone. This breed was historically hunted for their scales; even long after, they remain distrustful of humans. Normally a Sapphire is not very aggressive, but they will defend themselves vigorously if under attack. Their diet consists mainly of fruit, with smaller portions of large insects and other invertebrates. Males woo females with vocalizations similar to bird songs. Sapphire Dragons are very loyal to their mates, and it is not unusual that they pair for life.

---------------------------
Antarean Dragons

- This egg is surrounded by mysterious, reflective dust.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its scales give off a blinding light.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
(m) (f) - Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their nutrients from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Mutamore Dragons

- This lovely egg has rolled off to the side.
- Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its behavior is sporadic—solitary one minute, friendly the next.
- And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
- Mutamore Dragons are a mostly solitary breed, preferring to be alone in the waterways of the world for most of the year. However, when winter begins to wane, these normally grouchy dragons undergo a massive personality shift and become excessively chipper and incredibly social with the solitary focus of pairing up themselves—and other—dragons. They become such annoyingly happy and persistent match-makers that other dragons have been known to pretend to be pairs when one is in the area, just to avoid the attentions of the Mutamore Dragons. This temporary pairing up tends to lead otherwise disinterested dragons into a better appreciation of one another, resulting in lasting relationships. This has given the Mutamores the false reputation of being good at match-making.
